Around 10.30 in the night – whole of the house would have been sleeping, but for Paachu. He came to my room and said, “I want Jack fruit now”. Well, I must say, I wasn’t surprised, given the fact that it was Paachu who was asking it. And I told him to wait till morning at least, (so that he will forget). That did not deter him; he resorted to cry. Then my mom came out of her room and gave him ‘akhrot ‘ – the dry fruit. He had it and happily went back. He actually meant ‘akhrot’ when he said “Jack fruit” and only my mom got it. Had my mom been not there – all of us would have had a sleepless night – searching for jack fruit.
Affection is capturing what you mean rather than what you say - Hence proved.
